Are you interested in learning about Activated Isolated Stretching?

AIS (AIS) is a method of muscle lengthening and myofascial release. This stretching technique provides effective, dynamic stretching of major muscle groups. But more importantly, AIS provides physiological and functional restoration of superficial and deep fascial planes.

For many years, experts advocated a stretch that is held for up to 60 seconds. This static stretching actually decreases the blood flow within the tissues, creating localized ischemia and decreases oxygen to the tissues. The old method can cause trauma and even injuries.

Performing an AIS stretch of no longer than two seconds in a repetitive manor allows the targeted muscles to optimally lengthen without triggering the protective stretch reflex. These stretches provide maximum benefit and can be accomplished without opposing tension or trauma.
